உலகத்தமிழ்க் கல்விக்கழகத்தில், தமிழருக்குரிய சிறப்புப் பண்டிகைகளுள் ஒன்றான தமிழ்ப் புத்தாண்டு கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. விழாவில் ஆசிரியர்கள் அனைவரும் உற்சாகத்துடன் பங்கேற்று விழாவினைச் சிறப்பித்தனர். தமிழ்ப் புத்தாண்டு கொண்டாடுவதற்கான அறிவியல் பூர்வமான காரணங்களை எடுத்துரைக்கும் உரையுடன் விழா தொடங்கப்பட்டது. தமிழரின் பாரம்பரிய விளையாட்டுகளை மையப்படுத்தி விளையாட்டுப்போட்டிகள் நடத்தப்பட்டு, பரிசுகள் வழங்கப்பட்டன. மகிழ்ச்சியைப் பகிர்ந்து, ஒற்றுமையுடன் கொண்டாடுவதே விழா என்பதை மெய்ப்பிக்கும் வகையில் கொண்டாடப்பட்ட விழா இனிதே நிறைவடைந்தது.
